PRIVACY POLICY

Photos stay on your phone. The rules stay in plain sight.

PicClear needs access to the photos you approve so it can organize them on-device. This policy explains what it reads, what it stores, and how you remain in control.

Effective July 29, 2026
In short

PicClear analyzes photos on your iPhone. It does not upload photos or thumbnails, require an account, show ads, track you across apps, or include third-party analytics SDKs.

01

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the PicClear iOS app and the official PicClear website. It explains what information the app processes to organize photos, where that information stays, and how you control access.

02

Photo Library access and on-device analysis

PicClear can access your full library or only the photos you choose after you grant permission through iOS. You may deny access or choose limited access.

To identify similar photos, exact duplicates, screenshots, large files, and possible quality issues, PicClear reads only the information it needs on your device. This may include local asset identifiers, capture dates, dimensions, file sizes, and similarity features generated on your iPhone. Original photos, thumbnails, and photo features are not uploaded to our servers.

03

Local caches and preferences

To avoid repeating work, PicClear stores scan results, local asset identifiers, file sizes, category results, similarity features, free daily allowance usage, and your selections inside the app’s protected storage on your device.

This data stays on your device and does not contain another full copy of your photos. Revoking Photos access clears related library indexes and feature caches. Uninstalling the app removes data stored locally by PicClear.

04

Purchases and subscriptions

Monthly, yearly, and lifetime purchases are completed through Apple’s StoreKit and the App Store. Apple handles payment details, billing, and refunds. PicClear does not receive your card number or full payment information.

The app reads product identifiers, purchase results, and current entitlement status supplied by Apple so it can unlock or restore PicClear Pro. Apple’s privacy policy and terms govern the related transaction data.

05

Weekly reminders

If you choose to enable the Pro weekly cleanup reminder, PicClear requests notification permission and schedules a local notification on your device. The reminder does not require sending photo information to our servers.

You can turn the reminder off in PicClear or disable notifications in iPhone Settings at any time.

06

Deletion and recovery

PicClear does not delete photos automatically. Automatic selection only checks suggested items. Chosen items first go to the Delete List, and iOS shows its own confirmation before removal.

Deleted items move to Recently Deleted in Apple Photos. If iCloud Photos is enabled, deletion and recovery follow Apple’s sync behavior across your devices. PicClear does not control iCloud syncing or the Recently Deleted retention period.

07

What we do not collect

The current version does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, or advertising identifier. It includes no advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.

PicClear does not operate a cloud photo library, receive your photos, or sell or share photo content.

08

Your choices and controls

You can switch to limited access, change which photos are shared, or revoke access at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > PicClear.

You can cancel any selection before deletion, turn off weekly reminders, or uninstall the app to remove PicClear’s local data.

09

Website, email, and contact

The PicClear website sets no advertising or analytics cookies and uses no behavioral tracking scripts. Hosting infrastructure may process standard network logs, such as IP address, browser type, and request time, for security and reliable delivery.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to handle your support request or send a launch update you requested. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@picclear.app.

10

Policy changes

If PicClear’s features or data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. We will provide a clear notice in the app or on the website for material changes.
